Application for Admission to Practice

Admission to practice in the Western District of Texas is covered in Local Rule AT-1, Admission and Discipline of Attorneys. It will also be necessary for you to contact the attorney admissions clerk in the division office in which you intend to apply. Each division has specific requirements that may be different from those specified in the local rules. Do not mail your application until all required letters and certificates are included.

All attorneys licensed to practice in this District are reminded of the provisions of Local Court Rule AT-9 which requires any attorney who changes his or her business address to file with the clerk a notice with the proper attorney name, law firm name, new address and telephone number. If you have changed your address within the past two years, you may wish to confirm with the clerk that the correct information is on record. Also, if you have pre-registered for our Electronic Case Filing System and your email address has changed, you must notify the clerk of your new email address. [For more information on our Electronic Case Filing System, please visit our web page at CM/ECF Information and Help Desk.]

You may contact the clerk via email US District Clerk, Western District of Texas to confirm that your mailing address and email information are correctly on record
