Message from the Clerk:

The Western District of Texas covers an area over 91,000 square miles and comprises seven divisions. It is an honor to serve the judges, the bar of this Court, and the members of the public in this great district. The Clerk of Court is charged with maintaining court records, providing case information, explaining and publicizing court procedures, providing courtroom and case management support, and administratively supporting the Court.

Federal Court Practice Seminar in El Paso

A video replay of the live seminar held April 24, 2009 covering civil and criminal practice before the federal court, sponsored by the El Paso Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2009. MCLE credit is earned and this seminar meets the requirement of Local Rule AT-1(b)(2) for attorneys seeking admission to practice in the Western District of Texas.  See the attached notice for details.

Registration for Law and Technology Workshop now open

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Office of Defender Services Training Branch, announces the Law and Technology Workshop, a national training program open to CJA panel attorneys across the country.  The training is scheduled from July 30-August 1, 2009, in Denver, Colorado.  The attached flyer has additional information on the workshop, along with the draft agenda.  Information on the seminar, registration requirements, and availability of limited financial assistance can be found on the Federal Public Defender web site.
