Civil Case Filing Fee Increase - Effective May 1, 2013

At its September 2012 session, the Judicial Conference approved several changes to the miscellaneous fee schedules. The fee changes included a new $50.00 general administrative fee when filing a civil action, suit or proceeding in a district court, effective May 1, 2013. This fee does not apply to persons granted informa pauperis status under 28 U.S.C. § 1915.

Beginning May 1, 2013, the total cost for filing a new civil case will be $400.00, $350.00 for the Filing Fee and $50.00 for the Administrative Fee.
