Admission to practice in the Western District of Texas is covered in Local Rule AT-1, Admission and Discipline of Attorneys. It will also be necessary for you to contact the attorney admissions clerk in the division office in which you intend to apply. For a Non-Resident (out of district) attorney, it is only necessary to apply in one of our seven divisional offices. Once admitted, the attorney is admitted to practice in all TXWD divisional offices. Each division has specific requirements that may be different from those specified in the local rules. Do not mail your application until all required letters and certificates are included. Information regarding fees can be found on our Fees Schedule page. All attorneys licensed to practice in this District are reminded of the provisions of Local Court Rule AT-9 which requires any attorney who changes his or her business address to file with the clerk a notice with the proper attorney name, law firm name, new address and telephone number. All admitted attorneys are required to update their e-mail addresses, mailing address, and phone number online by logging into the Texas Western CM/ECF Filer or PACER login. If you are unable to log into CM/ECF to update your record, please complete the E-mail Notification Update Form and return it to the CM/ECF Help Desk.
Should you have any questions about your mailing or e-mail address(es), please contact the CM/ECF Help Desk for assistance.
Please note that you may e-file at any time, but CM/ECF support (CM/ECF Help Desk) is only offered Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST, excluding court holidays. No after hours support is available. When relevant, please include the Case Number and the Judge’s initials in the Subject: line of all e-mails to the court.
